The president of Ecuador has issued a state of emergency in three provinces over gang violence in those areas. This is the second time the president has used the state of emergency since he took office last year to try and curb the violence caused by gangs in Ecuador.
Four thousand officers and 5000 troops are deployed in those provinces to keep curfews and other laws in order. Likely, these crimes will not stop after this state of emergency because Ecuador’s crime society has run rampant over the last couple of decades with It spiking in the last few. The future is uncertain, but it would take a miracle that may not ever come for crime to stop.
