Despite being 31 years old and almost at the end of her Olympic career, she won a silver and bronze medal at the most recent Beijing Olympic Games. Francesca competes in 3 Olympic speed skating events: Women’s 1500m, 3000m, 5000m, and Mass Start.
Francesca Lollobrigida has had many big accomplishments in her skating career. Lollobrigida has won a national record for the fastest time in a 1500m race, finishing in 1 minute, 54 seconds. She also has national records for 3000m, and 5000m races. Lollobrigida Is currently the only woman to win a medal at the European All-Around Sports Championships.
When Francesca was young, she loved roller skating on the streets of Rome, and even on tennis courts! After the 200 Winter Olympics, Lollobrigida was encouraged by her dad to start speed skating. After a while of doing it for fun, she wanted to turn her talent into a career!
